The Sneetches is a collection of stories by Dr. Seuss. The Sneetches is about a group of vaguely avian yellow creatures who live on a beach. Some Sneetches have a green star on their bellies, and in the beginning of the story the absence of a star is the basis for discrimination. Sneetches who have stars on their bellies are part of the "in crowd", while Sneetches without stars are out crowd. This book is one my favorite book and help the children to understand to get along with each other and accept each other.

The book The Pig’s Picnic is about a perfect day for a picnic and Mr. Pig decides to ask Miss Pig to go with him written by Keiko Kasza. He is unsure of what she will say, so he decides to impress her by trying to look his best. On the way, however, he meets his friends the Fox, the Lion and the Zebra. Each of his friends give him their advice about what he should do look his best. Mr. Pig takes their suggestions and feels confident about his new looks. When Miss Pig sees him, however, she disagrees. This story is about the importance of being yourself and such a cute book. I love it!!!

Chapter 3, What I learned about chapter 3 is how to teach us as educators that we have to teach the students the comprehension skills in what they read.
In Chapter 4, What I learned about chapter 4 really informs me of how children get when they are truly engaged in their book when they read. I learn that there is many ways to engage and encourage children to love, to read. I learned that every child has different challenges and have different interpretation on reading. In chapter 4 I also learned that stories mean different to different people.

  1. I have read quite a few Dr. Seuss books but not this one in particular. I need to check this one out for my 6 yr old daughter, the topic of discrimination was brought to her attention recently, this could help her understand better.
