The book Too Many Tamales is written by Gary Soto it is about a Christmas story that features a Hispanic family. It's also a tale about why it's better to tell the truth than to panic and try to cover up a problem. In the story, a girl named Maria helps her mother make tamales for the Christmas meal. When her mother leaves the kitchen for a few minutes, she tries on her mother's ring. Later, after her uncles, aunts, and cousins have arrived, Maria realizes the ring is missing. She panics, and gets her cousins to help her eat all the tamales, trying to find the ring. When they find nothing, Maria realizes she has to confess to her mother—who, it turns out, has been wearing the ring all along. As the family cooks up another batch of tamales, Maria learns to laugh at herself and at what has happened. Children will read a Christmas story about a Hispanic family.Children will appreciate the importance of telling the truth and not covering up mistakes I love this book because it remain me about my Christmas making Tamales with my mother and sisters. When I first reading the book I could not stop laughing because the exact same thing happen to my sister when she was making Tamales.

No Tooth, No Quarter is written by Jon Buller is about a poor boy named Walter has not only lost a tooth, he's also managed to lose his lost tooth. His chances of getting his quarter look slim, and the apprentice tooth fairy assigned to pick up the tooth is in hot water in this imaginative romp for young readers. Fearing punishment from Queen Denteena for not finding any good teeth, an unlucky tooth fairy takes a boy down into the underground kingdom of the tooth fairies so he can explain that his tooth fell out but he mislaid it. This book is so funny and silly. This book is good to read to kinder and first graded students because they can really relate to the story.

Chapter 5 I learned in chapter 5 that Poetry is emotion of yourself. Poetry has many elements that can be used in the special educational class. It consists of sound, rhyme, repetition, rhythm, figuration language, and shape. The rhyme can be used in the connection of words sound alike and rhythm. I learned as a future teacher consider interest of the children and include poetry work from various cultures.
